Puja Hathi has been a dedicated professional in the mortgage industry since 2015. She began her career at London and Country Mortgages, where she gained extensive experience in a range of mortgage products, including residential, buy-to-let, limited company mortgages, and solutions for portfolio landlords.

In addition to her expertise in mortgages, Puja is passionate about protection advice, ensuring her clients are safeguarded against life’s unexpected challenges. She offers tailored advice on life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection insurance, and family income benefit. Puja strongly believes that protecting one’s mortgage—their largest financial commitment—is crucial for long-term financial security.

Puja holds the full CeMAP qualification and is currently advancing her expertise by working towards a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice. Before entering the mortgage industry, she achieved a Law Degree and the LPC qualification from the University of Northumbria.

Outside of her professional work, Puja enjoys knitting, a hobby she recently took up. She is also an avid reader, with a particular love for horror novels, and counts Stephen King among her favourite authors.

Tell us something that people wouldn’t expect about you?

If you speak to me, you will never guess I am from Newcastle upon Tyne, and Geordie. I am a big fan of Newcastle United Football Team, even during the time they were owned by Mike Ashley.

What would be your perfect day?

Perfect day would be spent on the beach in Newcastle on the rare sunny days we get up north! With the family having a Barbecue. Although I am currently based in London, I tend to travel up to Newcastle regularly especially during the summer.

Who was your idol growing up?

Although known more for beheading wives, Henry VIII was an inspiring character growing up. He achieved amazing things at such a young age. Becoming King at a young age of 18, his role in improving Parliament and Medical practices are just among the few.

What are your favourite and least favourite foods?

I have been vegetarian since the age of 6. My favourite food is Chinese, especially Tofu and Chow Mein Noodles. However, I am not keen on the taste of aubergine.
